UNI SLAC Welcomes, UNI APRO President Brother Minao Noda

Brother Minao Noda led a delegation to Sri Lanka in the first week of November 2017. In his capacity as the President of UNI Apro ICTS, Bro Noda was keen to learn the functioning of trade unions in the telecommunication industry is Sri Lanka. UNI ICTS is keen to support employees in the emerging mobile and digital industries securing decent work at their workplaces. UNI Apro ICTS sector has already formed a trade union alliance in the Axiata group a leading communication provider in the region. The delegation also had meetings with the members of Media Pro-Tech, and other union activists in Sri Lanka, regarding organizing Axiata members to expand the Axiata Global Alliance to Sri Lanka.

As a Sri Lankan, I was privileged to take part in 18th UNI APRO Women’s Committee Meeting and witness this joint sector conference with three more UNI SLAC colleagues from our finance Sector.

18th UNI APRO Women’s Committee Meeting took place in Jakarta, Indonesia on 20 November 2017. The committee meeting was chaired by Sister MirahSumirat of ASPEK Indonesia with the participation of about forty five (45) strong women leaders in the UNI APRO Region. During the meeting the committee members shared their country reports about the women’s activities in their own countries, own unions, review of the programs concluded in 2016-2017, updates about Indonesian labor Movement etc.

ජිවිතයට දෛනික අත්දැකීම් රාශියක් දිනෙන් දින රැස් වන අතර සුවිශේෂී රසවත්, අර්ථවත් අවස්ථාවන් කලාතුරකින් හමුවෙයි. එවන් සුවිශේෂී අවස්ථාවන් උරගා බැලීමට ඉඩ ප්‍රස්ථා ලද තුෂන්තිකා වන මම සහ ජනත් සහෝදරයා මහත් වාසනාවන්ත යැයි මාගේ පුද්ගලික හැගීමයි.

එම මහගු අවස්ථාව නම් 17 වන වරට පවත්වනු ලැබූ UNI LCJ අනුග්‍රහය යටතේ ෆුකුෂිමා හිදී පැවති ඉංග්‍රීසි වැඩමුළුවයි. එය ජපානයේ පවතින වඩාත් ජනප්‍රිය හා සහභාගී වන්නන් වඩාත් උනන්දුවෙන් සහභාගී වන වැඩසටහන් අතර වෙයි.

sg1The UNI Apro Mentoring program closing workshop held on 3-4th of October 2017 at Ramada Hotel, Singapore with the participation of fifteen women participantsfrom Malaysia, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The program was conducted by Sis. Veronica Fernandez Mendez (Head of UNI Equal Opportunities), Sis. Yoko Ogawa (Director for Equal Opportunities), and Sis. Joanna Katsoulas.
