NPTWU is a workers union representing all layers of employees from top to bottom with strength of around 6500 regular workers and 1500 substitute workers at present. We have represented Postal and Telecommunication sector workers for over 40 years since 1973 and we wish to continue the same in future.

We always believe in fair representation and gender equality that we have allocated fair representation of female members in our executive committee and open training and development for all the members in equity. Our members and their concerns regarding work are our main priority. We regularly discuss employee issues with management leading to minimum conflicts between the management, employees and trade union which always for the benefit of the employee and the employer. We do not collect any membership fee from our substitute members, but we always represent substitute workers for their issues to ensure their job security.

We have recognized the importance of employee recognition, employee welfare and empowering them as upmost priorities. Hence we have well established Welfare scheme, Insurance scheme (covering employee & family), Donation Scheme (Death of employee/ Retirement of employee), Scholarship Scheme to support bright and needy children of our employees for their education by offering scholarships with the generous financial support of UNI APRO and JPGU (Kanto) branch Japan.

NPTWU is an affiliate to UNI and UNI APRO since year 2000. We conduct educational, orientation and awareness and empowering programs for all our members island wide. We specially open doors for our members to participate in local and foreign trainings, workshops and seminars facilitate by UNI APRO, as we believe it is our responsibility to develop and empower our members for a better trade unionism.

We believe in solidarity, equality and being a powerful voice for working people to establish a better working environment for all.
