FBOSL

Federation of Bank Officers of Ceylon of Sri Lanka was formed by three officers associations of
Bank of Ceylon, People's Bank and National Savings Bank.
FBOSL was formed in 21st September 1998 and is affiliated to UNI Global Union since 2007.

  1. FBOSL has the following objectives.

  2. To secure the organization of Bank Officers.

  3. To maintain and promote good feeling between members and their employer banks.

  4. To regulate the relations between members and their employer banks and between members and members.

  5. To encourage the observance, by employer banks of members, of fair conditions of employment and to consider the grievances of their employees.

  6. To secure mutual support and co-operation in dealing with industrial disputes or demands made or action taken by any member association or associations in all matters or questions affecting the general and common interests of members.

  7. To promote joint consultative actions and to examine questions of general and common interests of members and to make representation to the appropriate authorities on all matters affecting the interests of members or employer banks in general.

  8. To finance wholly or partly subject to the provisions of section 46 of the Trade Union Ordinance and subject to such conditions, if any, as may be decided on by the Executive Committee, any member or members who shall directly or indirectly be involved in, or party to, any litigation, conciliation, arbitration or legal proceedings or in any proceedings before any Labour Tribunal, arising out of any dispute with any employer bank or banks provided however that the question involved in such litigation, conciliation, arbitration or legal proceedings or in any proceedings before any Labour Tribunal is of such over-riding importance in the opinion of the Executive Committee as to affect a large number of members of the Federation.

  9. To co-operate with any other organization, association or statutory body whether in Sri Lanka or not, in regard to all matters affecting the interest of the members or employer banks in general.

  10. To discus and take suitable action in matters of technical interest pertaining to banking and related business.
